My husband and I had just transferred to our home in July and we haven't really worked on the interior design and decoration of the place. Our walls are still bare and we still lack some furniture and appliances to complete the look of our home.
Honestly, I'm really not in a hurry to have it all done and completed. I believe in the idea that design of the home should evolve gradually. These days, we have to be careful with our spending. The budget should be highly considered and we should
set our priorities right. Anyway, my husband and I can get by with the things that we have from our previous home and most importantly, we're happy.
Our home looks neat and nice, actually. I guess we just needed to amp it up a little with a style or decor here and there. A very good friend of mine suggested that I co
me up with the decorations myself, such as a cross-stitch art, so that it wouldn't be very expensive. Plus, I can proudly say that it's a "labor of love". I thought it was a really good idea.
Now, I'm really not a "crafty" kind of gal, but it was something that I liked to get into in a long time. I just didn't have the chance and the time to do it. So to cut the story short, I bought myself a Spring Themed cross-stitch pattern. The one below:
DMC Store Megamall
Pattern Price: about P150.00 (plus free pattern)
Thread: about P10.00-11.00(I lost the receipt kalimutan ko na kung magkano exactly pero parang total of P300 ang binayaran ko. Yung pinaka-canvas and needles ko was hand me down from my mom-in-law, so i didn't have to buy anymore.)
What I liked about the design is the cherry blossoms. It's one of my favorite flowers, though I haven't seen one or touched one personally. Also, the two birds are like me and Jay hahah :)
I've already started working on it 2nd week of September and I must say that it's no walk in the park. Maybe because it's my first time or my choice of design. I should have chosen a simpler one...but it's alright. I'd rather choose a design I like rather than a simpler pattern just because it was easy to do.
Oh, this will truly be a "labor of love". It took me hours just to finish a few stitches on one cherry blossom. I had to stop because my eyes were already teary and my back was hurting. And yet, I haven't done 1/8 of the design!
I wonder, when I'm going to finish this.
Have patience, Ellen. :)
